Symposia Information

Symposia are commercially supported continuing education programs held before and after official ASHP programming at official meeting hotels and/or the convention center.

These are commercially supported educational activities, not ASHP-planned educational programs. For more information on a specific program, please contact the company and/or individual published in the online listing.

Symposium Application

Thank you for your interest in conducting a Midday or Satellite Symposium at the 2019 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting. All symposium requests must be approved and coordinated through ASHP. All commercially-supported symposia must be accredited for continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit. Program organizers are responsible for providing CPE credit; ASHP does not assume this responsibility. Please follow the steps below to reserve symposium meeting space and submit program details. It is imperative for organizations to read and understand the Satellite Symposium Guidelines and/or the Midday Symposium Guidelines before the online application is submitted. The submission deadline is Friday, November 22.

Please note that food and beverages (i.e., boxed lunches) are no longer provided to attendees of the Midday Symposia funded by commercial supporters and held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during the Midyear meeting. This policy was established by ASHP in consideration of commercial supporters that have opted to exclude food at all continuing education activities for healthcare providers for which grant support has been provided based on their policies related to the Physician Payments Sunshine Act. In addition, the Midday Symposia have been shortened by 30 minutes to allow attendees to eat lunch after the symposia. Alternatively, attendees are free to bring their lunches to the meeting room and enjoy them during the educational activity.

Publication deadline for Symposia listing in the October 15 issue of AJHP and the onsite program book. (ASHP will publish the session title, supporter, contact name, and email.)

November 8 Deadline to participate in the Meeting Registration Bag Insert. Contact the ASHP Exhibits Team for information at ashpexhibits@jspargo.com.
November 22 Order ASHP's preregistrant mailing lists to ensure delivery for pre-meeting mailing. Contact Shannon Benjamin at 301-664-8757 or marketing@ashp.org.
November 22 Final deadline to submit applications for Symposia, Promotional Theaters, and all Function Space.
