Evidence-Based Solutions to Promote Well-Being: Empowering Interprofessional Teams to Advance Patient Care
Join ASHP for an innovative, interactive, and solutions-based day to kick-off your 2019 Midyear experience. The day will start with a release of the results of from a groundbreaking National Academy of Medicine (NAM) consensus study to identify evidence-based solutions to interprofessional workforce issues and the day will end with collaborative solution-building discussions.
ASHP is a sponsoring member and pharmacy voice to the National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience. This multi-year interprofessional initiative is raising the visibility of workforce burnout, improving baseline understanding of challenges to well-being, and advancing evidence-based solutions to improve patient care by caring for the caregiver. At the ASHP Well-Being Collaborative, we will build on this work and:
- Review the causes of burnout and consequences for patient care providers and patients
- Explore components of training, composition, and function of interprofessional teams to maximize care
- Identify evidence-based systems interventions for patient care providers to mitigate risk
- Share recommendations with ASHP to improve patient care by supporting the well-being of the workforce
Interprofessional panel participants from sponsoring organizations of the NAM Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience will join ASHP members to foster shared solutions. Conclude the day with an ACPE-accredited session on mindfulness.
