Health and Safety

Last updated: August 11, 2022

ASHP will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for all participants attending the 57th ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition. COVID-19 vaccines available in the United States are effective at protecting people—especially those who are boosted— from getting seriously ill, being hospitalized, and even dying. As with other diseases, you are protected best from COVID-19 when you stay up to date with the recommended vaccines.

There will be no exceptions, religious, medical, or other. All onsite participants are required to upload proof of vaccination in advance before being allowed to receive their badge. You will not receive a badge without vaccination verification. A COVID-19 booster shot is strongly encouraged as extra protection.

At the 2022 Midyear meeting, our top priorities will be health and safety. Be assured that ASHP will follow all national and local COVID-19 public health guidelines in place at the time of the meeting, including, if appropriate, masking and distancing protocols. We recognize that the COVID-19 situation is continually changing. We will continue to closely monitor, the latest available information to enable us to make appropriate decisions that are in the best interests of all involved in the meeting.

In addition, ASHP is in close coordination and having ongoing conversations with ASHP’s housing provider, meeting venue, and airline and travel industry liaisons. ASHP is committed to compliance with all applicable requirements imposed by federal, state, and local health authorities in connection with the location of the applicable in-person ASHP meeting or event. Information about COVID-19 for travelers and tips for prevention are available on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) website.

NOTE: Hotel amenities and services may also be limited or reduced to maintain health and safety guidelines and best practices. Be sure to check with your hotel directly prior to arrival.

ASHP strongly encourages everyone to register for the meeting in advance. Online registration will be available throughout the meeting. Limited counters will be available for onsite registration

Please note that you will not receive a badge without vaccination verification.  No exceptions, medical, religious, or otherwise will be made.

For the entry to the Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition, attendees are considered fully vaccinated:

  • Two weeks after receiving the second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines; or
  • Two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine, such as the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine

For international attendees, ASHP will accept a full course of immunization with any vaccine that has been authorized by the World Health Organization (WHO) or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The product may be either fully authorized or authorized under an emergency use authorization or equivalent at the time of travel (see list of eligible vaccines).

ASHP is partnering with CLEAR for vaccination verification services. Uploading your proof of vaccination should be done in advance. ASHP suggests that attendees do this as soon as possible to avoid any processing delays. Once the proof of vaccination is uploaded and verified, a green health pass will be issued. Your green health pass must be presented for inspection upon arrival before you receive your badge and are granted access to the meetings. Instructions for accessing CLEAR will be communicated to registrants via email and below.

ASHP will determine protocols based on the latest guidance from the CDC in addition to local regulations in Las Vegas at the time of the Midyear Meetings.
