The following awards will be presented during the Opening Session on Monday morning.

ASHP Board of Directors Award of Honor

The ASHP Board of Directors Award of Honor recognizes people outside the pharmacy discipline who have made extraordinary national or world-wide contributions to the health field.


Ronald T. PiervincenziRonald T. Piervincenzi, PhD, CEO, U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP)
Dr. Piervincenzi has served as CEO of USP since 2014, bringing over 25 years of industry experience across pharmaceutical sciences, research, and business strategy. Under his leadership, USP has forged impactful partnerships with ASHP to address critical challenges related to drug shortages and supply chain resilience, enabling pharmacists to deliver safe and effective medication therapy.

 


 

ASHP Board of Directors Distinguished Leadership Award

The ASHP Board of Directors Distinguished Leadership Award recognizes pharmacists who have achieved excellence in pharmacy practice leadership in acute and ambulatory care settings.


Nicole M. Acquisto Nicole M. Acquisto, PharmD, FASHP, FCCM, FCCP, BCCCP, Clinical Research Pharmacist, Department of Pharmacy and Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine (EM), University of Rochester Medical Center
Dr. Acquisto is a nationally recognized leader and expert in EM pharmacy. A prominent advocate for the recognition, training, and integration of pharmacists in EM patient care, she has been a driving force in shaping EM pharmacy through her sustained contributions to EM residency standards, professional guidelines, education, research, and ongoing practice transformation.

 


 

ASHP Board of Directors Donald E. Francke Medal

The ASHP Board of Directors Donald E. Francke Medal honors pharmacists who have made significant international contributions to advance pharmacy practice.


Andras SuleAndras Sule, PharmD, PhD, Immediate Past President, European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP); Chief Pharmacist, Budapest Péterfy Hospital, and Honorary Associate Professor, University of Pécs
Dr. Sule is a prominent international pharmacy leader who pioneered the Hospital Pharmacy Day initiative with a strong commitment to advancing clinical pharmacy services, medication safety, and workforce development. He is particularly dedicated to expanding pharmacists' roles, developing patient-centered pharmacy practice, and fostering digital health integration and international collaboration among pharmacy organizations across Europe and globally.

Dr. Sule will present his Francke Medal lecture during a special session on Monday afternoon.

 


 

ASHP Board of Directors Pharmacy Champion Award

The ASHP Board of Directors Pharmacy Champion Award recognizes leadership in advocacy and public policy that contributes to significant improvements in patient care, drug safety, medication-use outcomes, and advances the vital roles pharmacists play as patient care providers.

The formidable cross-sector partnership between the AKPhA, ISU/UAA, and AK BOP mobilized pharmacy professionals, student pharmacists, and regulators to achieve significant legislative victories aligned with ASHP’s strategic priorities. These efforts directly advanced medication safety, expanded patient access to care, and transformed care delivery systems to keep healthcare closer to home, particularly in rural and underserved regions. Their collaborative, high-impact grassroots advocacy model serves as a proven framework for other states seeking sustained policy change, enhanced medication safety, expanded access to care, and a robust pharmacy leadership pipeline.

 


 

ASHP Board of Directors Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award

The ASHP Board of Directors Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award recognizes contributions to excellence in the role of pharmacy technicians, the advancement of the pharmacy technician workforce, and the advancement of pharmacy practice.


Janet McGregor Liles Janet McGregor Liles, MS, CPhT-Adv, CPTEd, Director, Arkansas State University-Beebe
Ms. McGregor Liles is a highly respected pharmacy technician, educator, mentor, and advocate. Her transformational leadership and dedication to advancing pharmacy practice through technician integration, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based education have elevated the contributions of pharmacy technicians to modern healthcare delivery and created lasting change that benefits the whole pharmacy workforce and the patients they serve.


Billie M. SimonsonBillie M. Simonson CPhT, Pharmacy Technician Specialist | EnACT (Enhanced Access and Care Technician Team), UNC Health
Mrs. Simonson is an exemplary pharmacy technician with an unwavering dedication to patient care, innovative practices, and advancing the role of pharmacy technicians. A visionary leader, she helped transform how pharmacy technicians contribute to multidisciplinary care teams, demonstrating their essential role in improving access, outcomes, and overall quality of care.

 


 

ASHP-ABHP Joint Leadership Award

The ASHP-ABHP Joint Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in efforts to promote access to care for all people.

 

The ASHP-ABHP Joint Leadership Award recipient will be announced later this fall. This individual will be acknowledged during the Opening Session on Monday morning and recognized during the annual ABHP Luncheon on Tuesday afternoon.
