ASHP Board of Directors’ Award of Honor

The ASHP Board of Directors Award of Honor recognizes people outside the pharmacy discipline who have made extraordinary national or world-wide contributions to the health field


Corey FeistJ. Corey Feist, JD, MBA, CEO and Co-Founder, Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes' Foundation
Mr. Feist is a well-known author, speaker and leader dedicated to improving, supporting, and safeguarding the well-being and resiliency of the entire healthcare workforce through research, advocacy, and awareness. Under his leadership, the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation has worked closely with ASHP to enhance the resiliency and well-being of pharmacy professionals.

 

Jonathan PerlinJonathan B. Perlin, MD, PhD, MSHA, MACP, FACMI, FAMIA, President and CEO, The Joint Commission (TJC) and Joint Commission International
Dr. Perlin is a prominent physician, influential leader, and staunch advocate for the essential role that health information technologies play in improving quality and sustainability. Since joining TJC, he has been a valuable ASHP collaborator. An internist, healthcare leader, and doctorally trained pharmacologist, his ongoing support of pharmacists as medication experts and advocacy for pharmacist provider status has sparked impactful, profession-wide change and advancement.

 


 

ASHP Board of Directors’ Distinguished Leadership Award

The ASHP Board of Directors Distinguished Leadership Award recognizes pharmacists who have achieved excellence in pharmacy practice leadership in acute and ambulatory care settings.


Kenneth SchellKenneth H. Schell, PharmD, RPh, FASHP, FCSHP, Chief of Operations and Pharmacy Consultant, Strom and Associates
Dr. Schell is a highly respected leader, educator, and mentor with a distinguished career spanning over four decades. An expert in multiple areas of hospital and health system pharmacy practice, he is a staunch advocate for expanding access to care through the 340B Drug Pricing Program.

 


Hae Mi ChoeHae Mi Choe, PharmD, Associate Dean for Pharmacy Innovations and Partnerships, University of Michigan College of Pharmacy; Chief Population Health Officer, Michigan Medicine; and Executive Director, Michigan Institute for Care Management and Transformation, Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan
Dr. Choe was a pioneer in advancing the role of pharmacists in the ambulatory care setting and within organized systems of care. A leader in both healthcare delivery and pharmacy practice, her vision and direction in establishing innovative pharmacist-centered, team-based care models revolutionized the trajectory of pharmacy practice, transformed healthcare delivery, and improved patient outcomes across the nation.

 


 

ASHP Board of Directors’ Donald E. Francke Medal

The ASHP Board of Directors Donald E. Francke Medal honors pharmacists who have made significant international contributions to advance pharmacy practice.


Rob MossRobert J. Moss, PharmD, Vice President, International Pharmaceutical Federation
Dr. Moss is an esteemed leader in international pharmacy. His passion for improving patient care, educating hospital pharmacists and other professional staff, and optimizing health systems through the integration of new IT and eHealth technologies has improved hospital pharmacy services and patient outcomes throughout Europe and globally.

Dr. Moss will present his Francke Medal lecture – Seeing with Many Eyes: A Shared View on Global Pharmacy – during a special session on Monday afternoon.

 


 

ASHP Board of Directors’ Pharmacy Champion Award

The ASHP Board of Directors Pharmacy Champion Award recognizes leadership in advocacy and public policy that contributes to significant improvements in patient care, drug safety, medication-use outcomes, and advances the vital roles pharmacists play as patient care providers.


Virginia Department of Health (VDH) mpox Medical Countermeasures Unit
Pharmacists at the VDH demonstrated substantial innovation, leadership, and guidance both during and following the 2022 outbreak of monkeypox (now known as mpox). Hospitals, health systems, state societies, and health departments across the country heavily relied on the consequential work of the VDH mpox team to inform their mpox initiatives. These resources continue to serve as a model for many within healthcare.

 


 

ASHP Board of Directors’ Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award

The ASHP Board of Directors Pharmacy Technician Excellence Award recognizes contributions to excellence in the role of pharmacy technicians, the advancement of the pharmacy technician workforce, and the advancement of pharmacy practice.


Erin AtkinsErin Atkins, CPhT, CSPT, Lead Pediatric Technician, West Virginia University (WVU) Medicine Children's Hospital
Ms. Atkins is an outstanding pharmacy technician leader committed to the growth, advancement, and training of the pharmacy technician workforce. With over 15 years of experience in pediatric inpatient pharmacy, she has spearheaded several innovative and technician-focused programs that have enhanced the professionalization of pharmacy technicians, elevated their role within the pharmacy team, and advanced the pharmacy profession.


Sheri FulferSheri L. Fulfer, BS, CPhT, RPhT, Program Director – Pharmacy Technology, Casper College
Mrs. Fulfer is an exemplary leader and educator dedicated to expanding the role of pharmacy technicians, professionalizing the pharmacy technician workforce, and enhancing the quality of technician education and training opportunities across the country. Her dedication and commitment to the advancement of the pharmacy technician workforce continues to elevate the role of pharmacy technicians and advance the pharmacy profession.

 


 

ASHP-ABHP Joint Leadership Award

The ASHP-ABHP Joint Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in efforts to promote access to care for all people.

 

Anthony ScottAnthony C. Scott, PharmD, MBA, DPLA, FASHP, Director, Pharmacy Operations and Account Management, Cardinal Health
Dr. Scott is a respected pharmacy administrator, leader, and mentor whose steadfast commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration and leadership development has elevated pharmacy practice. His efforts to build a strong pharmacy leadership pipeline are helping ensure access to safe, effective care for all patients.

Dr. Scott will be acknowledged during the Opening Session on Monday morning and recognized during the annual ABHP Luncheon on Tuesday afternoon.
