Here’s how you can make the most of your experience and the incredible opportunities that await.

First-Time Attendee Welcome Event

Date: Sunday, December 8
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Location: Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (Exact room to be determined)

Start your Midyear journey with our First-Time Attendee Welcome Event. This session is specially designed to introduce you to the vast array of resources and opportunities available at the conference. You’ll get tips on navigating the event, making the most of the Exhibition Hall, Residency Showcase and Personnel Placement Service (PPS), and planning your schedule effectively. This is also a great chance to meet fellow first-time attendees and build your network from day one.

  • Networking: The Midyear Clinical Meeting attracts pharmacy professionals from around the globe, offering you an unparalleled opportunity to network with a diverse group of peers.
  • Session Planning: With numerous sessions to choose from, it can be overwhelming to decide where to spend your time. Use the online session schedule & itinerary planner or the ASHP Live! App to organize your professional development activities. Remember, all sessions are recorded for you to view online after the meeting, although continuing education (CE) credits are not available for recorded sessions.
  • Exhibition Program: Explore the Exhibition Program to discover the latest in pharmacy technology, services, and products. It’s also a prime area for networking with industry experts and potential employers. Open Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Residency Showcase: If you are seeking a residency position, the Residency Showcase is a must-attend event. It provides a platform to meet residency program directors, learn about different programs, and discuss potential opportunities. This is an invaluable resource for those seeking to further their training and career. Open Monday and Tuesday from 1 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. with different programs available in each session.
  • Personnel Placement Service (PPS): Looking for your next position? PPS offers one-on-one interviews with hiring managers. Anyone can participate in PPS, but it requires an additional registration from Midyear. There are 2 components to the job fair - PPS in-person and the PPS application portal, where you apply for open positions and set up interviews in advance of the in-person event. Your PPS registration gives you access to both. Open for interviews Sunday – Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Hotel Reservations: ASHP’s hotel reservation partner, Orchid.Events, is the only official hotel reservation provider for the meeting. Book your room early to secure a room at the best rate and close to the action. Reservations made through Orchid.Events also pay no resort/destination fee, receive free in-room Wi-Fi access, shuttle service to the convention center for six days, protection in the event the hotel oversells its rooms, and more!
  • Students’ Night Out: Join fellow students for a fun and informal evening at the Students’ Night Out. This event is perfect for networking with peers, unwinding after a day of learning, and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of New Orleans. Tuesday, 8 p.m. – 2 a.m.
  • Registration: Ensure you secure your spot at this landmark event by registering early. Early bird registration saves on registration fees and avoids the rush. For additional questions, feel free to call ASHP Customer Relations at 1-866-279-0681.
