Why was the Midyear meeting moved to a virtual meeting?
As a leading national health care organization, ASHP must continue to demonstrate leadership in making responsible choices to ensure the health and safety of our members, their families, patients and colleagues. With COVID-19 cases surging across the U.S., driven primarily by the Delta variant, we determined that holding a virtual Midyear meeting again this year is in the best interest of all meeting participants will alleviate the uncertainty and concern around traveling and attending a large in-person event during the ongoing pandemic.

We understand that the Midyear meeting is an essential event for our members, exhibitors, and other meeting participants. Given the success of our 2020 virtual Midyear Clinical Meeting, we are confident that we will create a dynamic, high-value experience to meet the needs of pharmacists, student pharmacists, residents, technicians and other registrants.

As was the case last year, the 2021 virtual Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition will deliver all of the important activities you expect at a Midyear meeting including educational programming, Residency Showcase, poster sessions, Personnel Placement Service, exhibit program, and networking opportunities. We will share these updated details as soon as possible on our Midyear meeting website and via other communication channels.

Where and when is the 2021 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition being held?
The Midyear meeting will be held virtually, Sunday, Dec. 5 – Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021.

What activities will be available during the virtual Midyear meeting?
ASHP will deliver all of the important activities planned for the Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition virtually, including educational programming, Residency Showcase, poster sessions, Personnel Placement Service, exhibit program, and networking opportunities.

In what time zone is the Midyear meeting being held?
All meeting sessions and events will take place in Eastern Time (ET).

Who do I contact if I have a question during the virtual Midyear meeting?
Please visit the Help Hub area of the virtual meeting platform. This area can be accessed within the main Lobby of the platform or from the top navigation bar. Staff will be available to assist during the following hours:

Will there be an ASHP LIVE! App?
There will not be an app this year. For the best overall experience, please access the meeting from a computer using Chrome or Firefox.

Can I use my cell phone to participate in the virtual Midyear meeting?
For the best overall experience, we strongly encourage registrants to participate in the meeting on a desktop or laptop computer using Chrome or Firefox as the browser. Several key features of the virtual meeting platform environment are not supported on mobile devices.

How do I obtain a certificate of attendance at the virtual Midyear meeting?
Visit the CE Info or Customer Relations booths located in the Help Hub area of the virtual platform.

Will I be able to obtain virtual ribbons?
In this virtual environment, attendee ribbons will not be available. Please make sure to visit the Badge Center, under the Playroom area of the virtual platform, to earn virtual badges and a chance to win prizes!

How can pharmacy technicians obtain CE during the 2021 Midyear meeting?
The Midyear meeting will offer over 50 sessions that award pharmacy technician CE credit. We ask the pharmacy technician members to please look for sessions that have that “T” designation in order to gain approved pharmacy technician CE credit.

How will educational sessions be delivered during the meeting?
Select education sessions will be offered as a live activity with the opportunity to participate in faculty Q & A and virtual group discussions. These sessions will be offered throughout the meeting and details and a schedule can be found in the Session Schedule and Itinerary Planner. Other sessions will be offered as online home study with continuing education credit until March 09, 2022.  All education sessions will be recorded. Registrants can earn over 200 contact hours through a combination of live and home-study programs.

NOTE: Live sessions will play at their scheduled date and time. Home Study sessions are listed on Sunday at 7:00 a.m. ET, and available on-demand until March 9, 2022.

Claiming CE
After participating in the educational activities of this meeting, attendees can process and claim their CE credit through the ASHP Learning Center at elearning.ashp.org. Attendees claiming their CE online will be able to view their CE statements immediately. 
Please note: Learners who claimed credit for the live activities should not claim credit for the home study activities.

For Live CE credit, all attendees must complete an evaluation and claim their live CE by February 1, 2022. Sessions available for Live CE can be identified by the “L” in the ACPE UAN number. Example: 0204-0000-21-246-L04-P

For Home Study CE credit, all attendees must complete an evaluation and claim their home study CE by March 9, 2022. Sessions available for Home Study CE can be identified by the “H” in the ACPE UAN number. Example: 0204-0000-21-246-H04-P

NOTE: To ensure your credit hours have been transferred to CPE Monitor, verify the accuracy of your CPE Monitor profile prior to Live CE or Home Study CE deadlines. After these deadlines, ASHP is unable to transfer your CE credit hours to CPE Monitor.

  • NABP’s CPE Monitor: to process CE, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians must enter an NABP e-Profile ID, birth month, and date in ASHP Learning Center. After you have entered this information, it is saved for future CE processing. You may obtain your e-Profile ID at nabp.pharmacy.
  • Florida Department of Health Continuing Education Credits: Florida-licensed pharmacists must self-report their meeting continuing pharmacy education credit hours to CE Broker. ASHP is not offering Florida Consultant Pharmacy CE at this meeting.

What special events are taking place during the Midyear meeting?

Will the Residency Showcase be included in the virtual Midyear meeting?

Will PPS be included in the virtual Midyear meeting?

How do I register for the virtual Midyear meeting?
The registration web site is live. You may register directly on the web site at midyear.ashp.org.

What is the registration fee for the virtual Midyear meeting?
Rates for the 2021 meeting are available on our meeting site and are based on the extended access a virtual environment provides, encompassing educational sessions, Residency Showcase, poster sessions, networking opportunities and more. Educational content remains available for 90 days after the end of the online event, providing opportunities to access far more content than would be possible over the course of a five day live event. The early bird discount is available through October 31, 2021.

Will student, resident and technician members get free registrations for 2021?
We are unable to provide free registration this year. Student, resident and technician rates for the 2021 meeting are available on our meeting site and are based on the extended access a virtual environment provides, encompassing educational sessions, Residency Showcase, poster sessions, networking opportunities and more. Educational content remains available for 90 days after the end of the online event, providing opportunities to access far more content than would be possible over the course of a five day live event. ASHP resident and technician members receive a discount of approximately 43% on advance registration compared to pharmacist members. ASHP student pharmacist members receive a discount of approximately 53% on advance registration compared with pharmacist members.

What is included in my Midyear meeting registration?
The full registration fee is an EXTENDED ACCESS PASS to all educational programming, plus access to plenary sessions, virtual exhibits, Residency Showcase, posters, and networking. Educational content will remain available for 90 days after the end of the online event.

Can I register for only one day of the virtual Midyear meeting?
Only full registration options will be available for the virtual Midyear meeting.

Can I share my registration with others?
Your registration entitles you to individual personal use access to the specified ASHP meeting or event for which you have registered. By registering for an ASHP meeting or event, you agree not to sell, trade, transfer, or share your individual personal use registration access link and/or code unless such transfer is granted by ASHP.

When is the last day I can register for the virtual Midyear meeting?
The last day to register for the meeting is Thursday, December 10.

What is the virtual Midyear refund policy?
Risk free registration! ASHP is currently offering no-risk registration and will provide a full refund to any registrant who chooses to cancel their registration for any reason prior to December 5.

Will commercially-supported symposia and promotional theaters be conducted at the virtual meeting?
Yes, these programs will still be conducted at the virtual Midyear meeting. A complete schedule and guidelines is available and will be continually updated on the Midyear meeting website.

Will there be a virtual exhibit program?
Yes, the virtual Midyear meeting will showcase a virtual exhibit program.

Where can I find the list of virtual exhibitors?
The list of current exhibitors is available on the Midyear meeting website. ASHP will continuously update this list as we transition from an in-person meeting to a virtual meeting.

I am currently an exhibitor who secured a booth in Orlando and wants to participate in the virtual exhibit and sponsorship program, what are the available options?
ASHP is actively working on the available exhibit and sponsorship packages. You will be contacted by Spargo, Inc., our exhibit and sponsorship sales partner, to discuss the options.

If we elect not to exhibit in the virtual format, will our company be eligible for a full refund?
Yes, exhibitors will be eligible for a full refund. Exhibitors will be contacted by Spargo, Inc., our exhibit and sponsorship sales partner, to discuss the options and process.

If we elect not to exhibit in the virtual format, will our company lose their Midyear 2021 priority points?
Yes, if your company cancels their participation, it will forfeit its priority points and the ability to participate in the Advance Space Selection for the 2022 Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition, in Las Vegas, NV.
